Poor man raceing

We have changed converters multiple times and can't seem to get the right combo. Running a 2500 lbs car with a 521 Hemi and 1871 roots . Every time I try to apply power my 60' gets worse. If I leave light it gets a little better. I would like to get back to some good 60 foot times again:-(
